IN THE BEGINNING

Growing up in her grandparents' home, Donika Renee's accustoms and perspectives were always slightly different than her colleagues. The food she ate, the clothes she wore and even the music she listened to. She early on discovered her appreciation for the gift that music was to her, and the impact it could have on the world. As a vocalist and songwriter, Donika knew how vital the underlay and sounds behind the music were to the story of the song. She most appreciated and related to the tones of funk, jazz, and soul.
Her passion for music grew in 2011 when she saw firsthand the process of how to create and originate your own music. Though grateful for that discovery, she soon found out what she "heard" was either unexplainable to others or not worth their investing. Donika saw an opportunity and responsibility to turn that passion into a mission. She continued writing and vocalizing what she heard throughout the years and later graduated from Ohio Media School in 2018. From there she mastered radio broadcasting, film and production. She followed by pursuing her Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Production at Full Sail University where she anticipates graduating Summer of 2021.
Donika currently is developing tracks from the composing to engineering, specializing in those same soul-jiving, feel-good melodies she first fell in love with.
